If you are any of the following, you may be eligible to receive free hearing health care at Attune through the HSP (Hearing Services Program), formally OHS (Office of Hearing Services).
Your audiologist will assess your hearing and general health to determine which device(s) would be most suited to you. They will ask questions about your lifestyle to gain an understanding of what features and benefits you need most with your level of hearing loss.
Attune offers a wide range of hearing aids from leading manufacturers.
These include:
The Hearing Services Program (HSP) covers a wide range of fully subsidised devices, which your clinician will discuss with you. Should you wish to have a device with special features and benefits that is only partially subsidised, the HSP will cover the equivalent amount of free devices and you will only be required to pay the difference.
Eligible DVA clients will be fitted with a hearing aid and assistive listening device (ALD) where required as part of the rehabilitation.
Attune Hearing is the largest medical hearing health care provider in Australia, meaning we are not owned by hearing aid manufacturers. We are also the only accredited hearing health care provider in Australia, so you can have peace of mind knowing you are being treated by medical professionals you can trust. Our interest lies in finding the right solution for you, our patient, every time.
Not all hearing loss is suitable for a hearing aid, we only provide a hearing aid fitting if the hearing assessment proves that this is the right solution for your issue.
You can contact your local Attune Hearing clinic and our staff will be able to check whether you are eligible and advise you on next steps, or you can check your eligibility online through the Australian Government Hearing Services Program (HSP) website.
If you know that you’re eligible to start receiving services, contact your local Attune Hearing clinic and our staff will be able to apply for the program on your behalf. They may also be able to send your GP an HSP medical certificate to confirm that there are no medical contraindications to fitting a hearing device. This is to be completed as a standard part of the HSP application process. Alternatively, our staff are able to provide you with a copy of the HSP medical certificate to take to your GP.
If you wish, you can apply online by visiting the Hearing Services Program website or by filling out the New Client Application Form (please note that paper applications can take up to 4 weeks to process).
You are able to Request a Reconsideration through the Department of Health, for the Hearing Services Program (HSP). A reconsideration must be lodged within 28 days of the original application.
